Rudesheimer Coffee

I’ve become hopelessly addicted to this coffee. ‘Scuse me, kaffee. The person who introduced me to this (hereafter known as The Guilty Party) also adds a dollop of orange liqueur, which makes all the difference. This version of the recipe comes from The Culinary Hags of London.*

3 sugar cubes
4 cl Asbach Uralt
Hot coffee
Whipped cream
Vanilla sugar
Grated dark chocolate

1. Put 3 cubes of sugar in a cup (or in an ‘original’ Rudesheimer Coffee cup), pour over 4 cl well-heated Asbach and light.
2. Stir and allow to burn for about one minute.
3. Pour in hot coffee and fill to about 2cm below the rim.
4. Place a scoop of whipped cream sweetened with vanilla sugar on top.
5. Sprinkle with grated dark chocolate.
6. Enjoy the hot delight through the cool cream.

I’m not sure how important having actual Asbach cups is, but once you too are addicted, you can buy a set with just a Google.
